My story is one of resilience, grit, and transformation.

I navigated a challenging childhood marked by poverty and adversities and emerged into the world with an unyielding spirit and a deeply ingrained belief in the power of human determination to overcome any obstacle.

I didn’t know it then, but this was the catalyst for my desire to change my life and not be a product of my environment.

Straight after high school, I went to University. I was beyond proud and excited. I wanted to be one of the first in my family to obtain higher education, but I failed (miserably).

The 19-year-old me decided she knew best, so I dropped out, moved across the country, learned to surf, and finally decided I was ready to return to University but couldn’t afford it.

At age 21, I joined the U.S. Air Force, serving for six years. I learned discipline and camaraderie there and defined my core leadership values of visibility, transparency, and role modeling. I even finished a bachelor of science in management and marketing.

At age 29, I had my eat, pray, love moment and solo backpacked through Europe despite what society told a woman nearing 30 to do. It was single-handedly the most empowered I'd felt in my life so far. My cup was full.

I knew I wanted to educate myself further. Lifelong learning is a core value, and I encourage everyone to embrace the same.

I am the first generation in my family to earn a master's degree. My degree in public health led me to a career in healthcare administration in my early 30's.

Along the way, I witnessed countless talented women held back by antiquated, male-majority leadership ideals.

The lack of compassion, collaboration, and effective communication in these environments (by men and women) hindered individual growth and impacted the quality of patient care.

Through it all, I've learned the importance of self-compassion, work-life integration, and the transformative power of embracing my authenticity.

In my late 30s, I decided again to continue my lifelong learning. I embarked on the journey of a Doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership with the University of Southern California.

I am the first female in my family to earn a Doctorate!

In my early 40s, I realized that if I could complete a Doctorate, I could sure as hell run a business.

This realization ignited my passion for creating a leadership paradigm, The Executive Prowess Paradigm, that embraces women's unique strengths and perspectives, fosters inclusivity, and prioritizes the well-being of individuals, organizations, and the communities we serve.

Today, I channel my experiences and expertise into a mission to empower other women in healthcare leadership through my high-proximity 1:1 program, The Executive Prowess Paradigm.
